Tell us your iOS version, your device model, the app version, and — if it is a connection problem — which location you were using and what kind of network you were on. That usually saves an entire round of questions.

Connection

Connection problems.

The VPN won't connect at all.

Work through these in order. Toggle the connection off and back on. Try a different location — an individual server can be out for maintenance. Switch network, from Wi-Fi to mobile data or the other way, since some networks and hotel or airport portals block VPN protocols outright. Check that the VPN configuration still exists in Settings → General → VPN & Device Management. Then restart the device. If none of that works, write to us and mention which steps you already tried.

It connects, but pages don't load.

First try switching off ad filtering in the app — occasionally a site depends on a domain that sits on the blocklist. If pages load with filtering off, that was the cause and you can tell us which site so we can look at the list. If they still don't load, try another location, then another network.

Which location should I choose?

For speed, the one geographically closest to you, or Optimal Location, which picks the nearest available server automatically. Choose a specific country only when you actually need to appear to be there.

The connection feels slow.

Some slowdown is unavoidable: traffic is encrypted and travels further than it otherwise would. Picking a closer location usually helps most. Worth testing your speed with the VPN off first, so you know the baseline you are comparing against.

It disconnects on its own.

Most often this is iOS Low Power Mode or an aggressive battery setting suspending the connection in the background. Turn Low Power Mode off and see whether it recurs. Weak signal and switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data also cause reconnects.

Can I remove the VPN configuration?

Yes, whenever you like: Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → the Fortyx profile → Delete. The app will ask permission to add it again next time you connect.

Ad filtering

Blocking questions.

A website breaks when filtering is on.

Turn filtering off in the app, reload the page, and if that fixes it, send us the address. Blocklists occasionally catch a domain a site genuinely needs, and that is worth correcting. The encrypted connection keeps working with filtering off.

Some ads still get through.

Domain-level filtering removes requests to known advertising and tracking domains. Advertising served from the same domain as the content itself cannot be separated out this way, so a portion will always get through. Anything claiming to block absolutely everything is overpromising.

Does filtering work inside other apps, or just in Safari?

It applies to traffic passing through the VPN connection, which covers apps as well as the browser — as long as the request goes to a domain on the list.

Billing

Subscriptions.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open the Settings app → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Fortyx VPN → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I cancel before a free trial ends?

The same way. You keep access until the trial period finishes, and you will not be charged provided you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.

I paid but the app still shows the free version.

Tap Restore in the app. Check that the device is signed into the same Apple Account used for the purchase. If it still does not unlock, email us with your App Store order ID, which is in the receipt Apple sent you.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled entirely by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, find the purchase and choose the appropriate option. We cannot issue refunds ourselves — but tell us what went wrong, because if it is a bug we would rather fix it.

I changed device. Do I need to buy again?

No. Sign in to the new device with the same Apple Account, install the app and tap Restore.

Privacy

Privacy and data.

Do you keep logs of what I do online?

No. Not the sites you reach, not a history of your domain lookups, not the contents of your traffic, and no session records tied to an identity. The Privacy Policy states this specifically rather than as a slogan, and section 4 explains how ad blocking works without keeping a DNS history.

Why is there no account?

Because it isn't needed. Access is verified against the App Store purchase on your device. No email address, no password, no profile — which also means there is nothing of that kind to leak.

I want my data deleted.

Most of what you might expect us to hold does not exist. For the diagnostic and subscription records that do, write to privacy@fortyx-vpn.com. Your App Store order ID is usually the only reference that can locate anything, precisely because there are no accounts. See your rights.
